As traveling photographers, we shoot couples all over the world but sometimes it’s nice to shoot in your own backyard. It’s not often that I am hired without a bride meeting me first. I always want to make sure she likes me and will be comfortable having me with her all day at her wedding. However, because of their intense work schedules, only Jake was able to meet with us and decided we were the right fit. Promising Sophia would agree.
I send questionnaires to my couples in order to get to know them better. Sophia’s questionnaire made me laugh out loud the whole time I read it. I couldn’t wait to meet her.
When we arrived at their Upper West Side Apartment we were greeted with warm smiles and the happiest little pup named Loki.
We chatted over Moscow Mules and I was completely charmed but Jake and Sophia’s connection. Jake’s soft-spoken and gentle personality perfectly balanced Sophia’s casual and witty spunkiness. I was so excited to get them in front of my camera. We wandered around their neighborhood, got a few photos in their inviting living room and finished the shoot drinking red wine and dancing to Taylor Swift on their rooftop overlooking Manhattan!
